The Buyer (a) in the cable industry is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring raw materials, components, and finished goods necessary for cable manufacturing and distribution. This role requires an understanding of the cable industry, including knowledge of suppliers, materials, and market trends. The Buyer ensures that all purchases meet quality standards, are cost-effective and delivered on time to support production schedules and customer demands.

Your tasks

  • Responsible for the operational procurement and supply management of an assigned raw materials portfolio for high-, medium-, and low-voltage cable production, as well as other key components used in cable manufacturing, ensuring supply continuity, cost optimization, and compliance with company procedures
  • Managing the end-to-end purchasing process for assigned materials, including demand analysis and issuance of purchase orders, as well as the follow-up activities
  • Act as pimary operational contact for assigned suppliers, monitor delivery times, quality and stock levels
  • Evaluation of suppliers, price negociations
  • Verification of order confirmations and delivery documents
  • Performance of invoice checks
  • Support within audits and internal controls

Your profile

  • Technical or business management education, together with a good technical understanding
  • At least 3 years of relevant professional experience in procurement. Experience in industrial manufacturing environments is preferred
  • Ideally knowledge of the cable industry and the corresponding procurement market, mainly materials for the manufacturing of cables
  • Solid understanding of purchasing processes, with good analytical skills for price evaluation and comparison
  • Strong organisational orientation and structured and pragmatic approach to problem solving, with ability to manage priorities in a fast‑paced environment
  • Good communication skills with internal and external stakeholders
  • Very good command of written and spoken German and English. Other foreign languages, preferably Italian, are an advantage
  • Good knowledge of MS Office and ERP system (Microsoft Dynamics 365 is an advantage)
